So the FDA has finally approved the morning-after pill. Um, yay! Although frankly, I can't believe it's taken this long. Hey, US sisterhood, keep this on the downlow, but you could have just taken about six normal contraceptive pills. It's the same damn thing.

The triumph here is making the drug available without a prescription, which is required for the Pill. Good lordy lord it's been a long time coming.
Now don't get me started on the HPV vaccine - arrrggghhh.

Ohhhh. Although I don't think anyone in Louisiana/Texas even knew about the morning-after pill when I was there. It was constantly confused with RU486, which is a whole different ball game.

A pharmacist here can give you the morning-after pill here in about ten minutes, but you have to go to a special Corner O' Shame and fill out a form about why you were such a big ho-bag. (Well, not really. It's just a little questionnaire about health issues. But it can feel a bit like that.)
