The Goodnight Kiwi

When I was a kid, staying up long enough to see the Goodnight Kiwi (which signalled the end of broadcasting for the night, Americans) was a sign of true decadence. The sound of this little theme tune is like someone gently massaging a nostalgia lobe. I even feel sleepy when I hear it.

(I also love that there's a tiny amount of completely unexpected NZ-retro stuff on YouTube.)

OK, I think I have to take back my happy pronouncements about the 90s Top Forty. This project is grinding me down into a fine powder of stress. The song list hovers around 100, and every time I drag a file into the supportively named 'rejects' folder, another song rises like a phoenix to take its place. I have also forced myself to a 'one song per artist' limit, which allows for more variety, but is basically the most frustrating thing ever. One Blur song? I mean, c'mon! Curse you, Lawrence! :)

I love historical photos. I love dogs. Finally, an exhibit which brings together these two things! Scope out these terrific photo albums of people and their little furry pals. Warms the heart, it does.
